Four months ago, I went on a holiday trip to Taif with my family and my friend. It was my first time visiting the city, which is famous for its cool weather and beautiful mountain scenery. We left early in the morning by bus, and during the two-hour trip I enjoyed the view of forests and winding roads along the mountains.
When we arrived at the tourist area, we planned to ride the cable car. However, suddenly the wind became very strong and the sky turned dark. The staff said that if the wind didn’t stop, the cable car would be temporarily closed. I felt nervous because it was the activity I had been looking forward to the most.
Fortunately, the wind began to calm down a few minutes later, so we were finally allowed to ride. From above, the view was incredibly beautiful—I could see the whole city and the green mountains below us. After getting off, we played toboggan, which was really fun. I also tried avocado juice and camel satay for the first time, and surprisingly it tasted delicious. We even saw some active monkeys around the mountain area before having lunch together at a restaurant.
Although the weather almost ruined our plan, the trip to Taif turned into a very enjoyable experience. I returned to Makkah feeling tired but grateful, because that day was truly memorable.
